    CHINE WALK HELP

Just got my new Phoenix 920. super excited about it and i just finished the break in period for the mercury 250 pro xs. I'm having trouble controlling chine walk for some reason. i have a 25p fury and when it gets around 69-70 mph it starts to chine walk to the point that i have to slow down to make it stop. i haven't trimmed it up too much in my opinion but who knows. i believe i messed my prop to pad to be 4 inches. Anyone know if that is too low or what else could be causing it to walk so bad?

4 inches is too low, probably need to start around 3.5 to 3.25. The Phoenix hulls don't need much trim either, when it starts to walk bump it down a little.

Keep the trim around the 1/4 mark and 4" is too low. Raise the motor to 3.5 and try again. If it still is a problem raise it again by a 1/4". It may take a couple runs to get the sweet spot.

4" is too low. Ease it up 1/4" at a time then make another run...You'll find it.

I'll tell you that if the boat is not set up exactly at the correct ptp you won't get the performance. I'm very new to driving these boats too but if I drop or raise my hydraulic plate a .25" from 3" it doesn't run right. It will still run close to top speed but it's harder to drive. More than a .25" or .5" from the correct ptp and it's pretty wild walking wise. I could run at 2" and hit 70 and and walk like crazy. I could be at 4" and still hit 70 but walk like crazy. At 3" I can run 70 with no hands basically and little to no input at 75. At 78 I have to drive it. My numbers are not ptp to be clear. They are the gauge numbers in inches on the bobs gauge. I have no idea what my ptp is.

Try setting it at 3" to 3 1/8". Also make sure load in your boat is evenly distributed. Improper loading in your boat can affect how your boat rides quite a bit.

I just bought a 920. Will pick it up Wednesday or Thursday. I drove it Saturday it walked with me driving but the owner drove it and was fine. It's gonna be a learning curve I'm sure. Boat was completely empty when we went. Still only did 72gps but I'm a plus size model. He was little , not as big and sexy as me though. The prop was t best so I think that's a lot of the speed issue. I thought it do 75 with us in it

He went half on a new prop with me so I'm good. I'll keep the 26 for a spare
