Ford EcoBoost Owners--Customer Satisfaction Program
Don't know if anyone has received the letter in the mail yet, but they are replacing all the vacuum pumps in the EcoBoost trucks. Mine has been making a noise for quite some time (80,000+ miles), I just was not going to pay 1100+ dollars for a part, when it was just a plug and play.
I took mine over to the dealership after I received the letter and they are replacing the part cost free. A friend of mine called me the day he received his, and mine was in the mailbox the same day.
Haven't had issues with my truck. Bought it new in 2012, and have put 152,000 miles on it. My new job allows me to have a take home car, so it literally just sits in the driveway now and does not move.
If you got the paper just make sure you read the entire thing... each dealer I went to, to varify it, they tried to dismiss some of the literature inside the letter as if I hadn't already read it....
In the letter it says,"Ford Motor Company is extending the warranty coverage of your vehicle's electric vacuum pump to a total of 10 years or 150,000 miles from the warrant start date. Whichever occurs first.
If you vehicle has already exceeded the time or mileage limits listed above, this extended warranty coverage will last through July 30, 2016. Coverage is automatically transferred to subsequent owners."
