    Looking at the 93SV

I am buying a new boat and am looking at depthfinders. Forgive me as I don't have a ton of time to go through the forum and search everything that has been written about these units (I am a CPA and on a break between appointments).

Are these units able to be hooked up to a trolling motor with universal sonar?
Can these be hooked up to a SHO to monitor the engine, like NMEA?

The price point on these units seems too good to be true. The reviews I have read seem good, anyone see any downside? I have had lowrance and birds and there are ups and downs with both of them, just looking for an honest assessment.

Yes they will hook up to a trolling motor with US but you will need a adapter. As for the Yamaha, you can hook up to it but you will need a gpsmap unit that has the nmea 2000. The echomaps that are currently built do not have that function. The gpsmap units start at around $750-800 and go up from there depending on configuration, screen size and functions.
I haven't seen any downside to them yet and am not sure I ever will.
    Garmin makes an excellent product.
talk to guys that have Garmin and you will find very few that have had issues or are dissatisfied with their units.
Special thanks to my sponsors- Team Daiwa, Garmin Electronics, Gill Technical Fishing, Bass Magnet Lures, and Upper Canada Marine.

I have Garmin 840XS hooked up to NMEA2000 network onto my Evinrude 150 HO Etec. You will be able to do same with your SHO.
