I don't think I would lead a little old 4-pounder around, waiting for the net. Don't blame the co angler, dude...get it your self.

We don't know the full details of that fish.. It is just a funny story. He didn't make a big deal out of it anyways. Thanks for watching though.

I'm with you on this one. First sign of net trouble and I woulda swung that fish aboard. Pretty funn story though about the inflatable. Apparantly it was just not his day to be on the water.

Best way to lose a fish is to swing it. With 1000's of dollars on the line and often a chance to qualify for bigger and better things you should not flip the fish in the boat.

On some lakes a "little old" 4 pounder is a big fish.

It also depends on what your fishing with. Jigs you can flip them better. Crank baits and finesse they almost never flip them in the boat.

Think about how it would feel to try and flip a fish in the boat and then lose it knowing that fish might have been the one that cost you $100,000!

Looks like he would have been just as good off to try an swing it in or lip it. He lost it anyway. 6 to 1 half dozen to the other. I would have rather lost it trying to get than to have done nothing but lead it around on a rope.

How do you know he didn't loose it when he tried to flip it?

He doesn't say in the video.

Either way, csurp's comment is kind of a dickhead thing to say. Didn't sound like Casey was blaming anyone.

All I can think of is this scene from Tommy Boy, at about 1:08.

I fished with a guy like that, made any mistake he punched himself and yelled and screamed like a 2 year old child! Worst day on the water I have ever had.

No he is looking back on it now and laughing. I wouldn't have been at the time though. Although it would become kind of humerous as the day went on watching him and his antics.

We will never know if he tried to flip it in or not. He just said he was leading it around.

I noticed the co-angler related post going by under the "new posts" button. Am interested in co-angler related stuff.

If your an elite series angler and not using nets for eight events why not land your fish with the same skills you picked up in the elite series? Does it really matter what board the guy is from?

You don't need to "hang around" any particular section of the forum to get somewhere.

    Top of page.
    Click on "link".
    Click on "Today's posts".
Look for a current thread that interests you.

That's how the majority of people find interesting topics.
