    Lawyer for Lemon Boat?

I just bought a new Ranger 521 Cup Equipped in March 2025 from the local bass pro shops. I immediately have had problems, particularly with the ride system. This last trip to the dealer, they just decided to keep the boat and have not given me a schedule for when the repairs will occur. It's been there for three weeks straight this trip. They are blaming White River Marine. I call White River Marine and they are blaming the Dealer. As far as I can tell neither one of them knows how to fix the issue. I can't use the boat. When the ride systems goes haywire, the running lights will not turn on, the bilge pump doesn't work and there are a host of other computer-related problems. I give up. I want to call a lawyer. Has anyone had any success with a Magnuson-Moss claim against White River Marine or any other manufacturer? If so, would you be willing to share your lawyers contact information? It's not easy to find a lawyer to handle a lemon boat.

    Thanks,

    John Suyes

I would call Ranger and start there even though they’ll blow you off and tell you to go to a dealer, but I’d also try to find out who maybe a district or regional guy is and get a hold of their ear

You would be subject to federal law as I do not believe Alabama covers boats under their lemon law statutes (only personal automobiles). You might be able to seek remedy under Alabama uniform commercial code (with the warranty or an implied warranty (which you have better than an implied warranty in this case)). As you pointed out, fed law Magnuson Moss might be your remedy.

If I were you, I'd Document everything you've done to date and take it to a contracts lawyer in your town. Have he/she write a demand letter and send it to Ranger and the dealer. This might perk their attention. Even with magnuson moss you have to give them ample time to fix it (3-4 tries) and I think most cases require a refusal to fix. It doesnt sound like they are refusing to fix it, they just dont know how.

Brief search in our systems says Farah and Farah practice in alabama and have exp with lemon law and federal mm claims.

Dont see how they can blame the dealer, the dealer installs the batteries that is about it.

Seems to be a lot of these touch screen issues in the new boats lately. Maybe just a growing pain of the industry.

There is no way a boat should have a touch screen................seriously this is not one of the brighter ideas. So sorry to hear about your issues and hope they can rectify it. I will always go to a local dealer totally independent and I trust. Also helps to have a 'shade tree' boat person on speed dial.

They are. They don't act that way, however.

Find another dealer. Rule #1 - Never buy a boat directly from Bass Pro Shops. Rule #1 - If you violated Rule #1, NEVER, EVER take the boat back to Bass Pro Shops for service. There are lots of horror stories on the web about the terrible service from Bass Pro and Cabelas.

I' I learned this the hard way, unfortunately. Once I get it back for this repair. (If that ever happens.) im going to take it to the Tracker center in Florence or the Fish and Fun up in Chattanooga.

Fish and Fun in Chattanooga is good folks. I would take a day and visit them, without the boat, and while I was that close, I would drive down to Dalton, GA and talk to Wally at Dalton Marine. They are the longest active Ranger dealer in the country and Wally has seen just about everything there is to see regarding Ranger, and Mercury. They stay extremely busy and he may not be interested in trying to help, but it's worth the drive, and the conversation. Dalton Marine is good folks as well.

I would recommend Dawson Marine a Ranger dealer in Scottsboro. His mechanic Keith can fix that problem
