    If not Sabine, where?

Everyone keeps saying theres better river systems to go than Sabine…. Ok, where? It’s been mentioned the Ohio sucks…. Seems to me, the Arkansas isn’t all that great… Red is very worn out and doesn’t produce like it did, from my experience… It didn’t seem like the Tenn-Tom was a ball of fire….

they already go to the upper Mississippi pretty regularly….

Potomac, Sacramento, Columbia River, I’d even say the Hudson River is better for quality

Put them in the Mississippi River at Memphis and weigh-in at the Bass Pro Pyramid.

There'd only be half the field able to fish after their trucks and trailers disappeared during practice days and their gear got gone overnight.

If it's going to be tough fishing make the whole experience tough. Hire a few guys to mug them at the ramp and then shout out info at their motels
There's lots of decaffeinated brands that are just as tasty as the real thing.

Team tournament. The men fish and the wives/girlfriends defend the rigs.

California Delta, Clearlake, Shasta Lake, Columbia River system. If you are a professional, you should be able to travel. I worked the stage when they were out here with then, Trip Weldon for the Duel in the Delta I think in 2010. Which was won by Aaron Martin, Paul Elies went home after the first day. Granted its long ways from home but some of those guys have never been on these waters.

Agree, FLW did it, Klein won a couple of those and they were very interesting. However, on one, there was a strong wind blowing upstream and a lot of anglers tore up equipment or had to be trailered back, just part of the game that makes it more interesting IMO. The Arkansas is still just fair, just like with most rivers, no habitat improvement projects, just the AGFC stocking some.

    For those Western angler comments:
As for the west coast, that continually is injected into schedule conversations. No one has spent more time and effort out west than we have, and not just the last 10 years. We worked to jump start the flailing WON Bass US Open, which was paltry in participation when we came in. Before that we were supporting BBT which focused around the Bay and Delta area. We entered WWBT that failed, and desperately tried to grow that template with the APEX Tour. From there we supported ABA an and the Sutherland’s efforts. And later we have entered with the BAM Series and Pro Tour. We currently have four operating structure we support out west. About 25-30 Years ago we supported the old Anglers Choice western template that was another failed western structure.

We traveled to compete at Powell, Mead, Havasu, Shasta, The Delta and more in those years that Bassmaster tried to accommodate those same pleas of west coast anglers. I personally dug to find those Oregon, Whiskey Town, Thermalito Upper Bay, Trinity and similar locations off the beaten path for fresh events. While the west has tremendously developed in so many ways, it also has regressed in others. The share of freshwater fishing products sales out west has fallen since 2022.

West Coast anglers always have had a wait and see attitude for those that come in to offer them a venue. The Toyota Series is an example of that as they wait and see if something will stick. If you don’t fish those events others bring in, they won’t stick. These same vacillating support trends have been out west for decades and it extends through products.

Relationships out west have been tied to those western stake holders. Thats who they know, and have known, so a dealership aligned to selling “X” brand gets those customer nods. The sponsorships of an “A” brand often are not in those dealerships, so those brands struggle in a very minimal market. People support those tackle stores, products and retailers they always have known. Nothing wrong with that, though those companies have not given the western anglers the angling platforms they want. California has to learn that supporting those that offer them a venue will extend their participation in that western fishing culture.

The largest two western boat markets are AZ and CA. California is almost 40 million (40,000,000) people approximately, while here in Arkansas it’s 3.8million. Arkansas is a larger marine and fresh water fishing market than California. Texas remains the largest and dwarfs all others. Lots has came out of those Cali’ markets for fishing and the Japanese influence spun off those areas. Those western bait and tackle companies have certainly been involved in that.
