    Rough Stuff

First time out in less than good conditions and I have to say I couldn't be happier....that STS hull is SMOOTH!!! Nice to be able to run though at a decent speed.

It is definitely a great 1 to 2 ft wave runner. So much better than my previous Z521C and it handles better. However, you need to drive it at speeds in the 70s. My boat will run 77 with just me but I don’t have a ton of equipment.

Yeah still trying to figure that out, I have gone 73 but can't get past that, gets a bit "loose" Ia just added 50lbs in the back, hope that helps a bit.

Loose is fast on a BassCat, if it's doesn't feel loose you probably are running the jackplate too high. The weight in the back is a crutch that you don't need. Watch Rick's driving video over and over and you'll get where you can get the most performance out of your Cat.

Yes I watched it and Rick mentioned keep the plate low and weight isnt needed...I only put 25 on each side, i just have to fulfill my curiosity. If I can get it right then I'll take them out and see if it changes. I know my Rangers performance suffered quite a bit when I went all Lithium. I think it's also a matter of just needing seat time too.

Most issues with folks taming their Cats are due to coming from brands that required full trim to get the necessary lift at top speed. As you see most BCB hulls need slightly more than neutral trim to run best at top speed due to the built in lift in the hull. Jack plate low, easy on the trim, allow the hull time to build lift and speed naturally, small bumps of the trim after that.

I got 76 yesterday with full fuel 60 Ga, all tackle and rods.
Livewell was empty or whatever gets in there from normal buoyancy with the valve on empty. I’ve seen 77 with 2 guys and 3/4 fuel. Neither time did I have room to stretch it out and fiddle with the plate and trim.

literally, guntersville was a real B this weekend. Cross winds and a foot steady different directions, 55-57 cruised. Dude in the boat said -- damn that was impressive and the smoothest ride ive ever been in in that kind of water. Did exactly as mentioned here: JP around 1, trim at 5-6 -- cruised right along. it is so impressive how this boat can stay on top of waves. Obviously long trough gaps in waves are different

went around the corner, and wind was really howling 3-4 footers. could have done it but decided the run was too long and not fun so turned back round.
