AT transducer angle for forward mode

I’m guessing the following question is answered somewhere but my searches came up empty.

What is the appropriate angle to set the transducer at for forward looking? I am on a Live Foot turret, so the index marks don’t exist.

Google searches return images that show the bottom of the transducer block parallel with the trolling motor motor housing (which places the angled face on a slight upward-forward angle). But in that position, I’m not able to see a crank bait retrieved running 5 to 7 feet down, or any surface type bait.

Rotating the transducer upward, it takes 3 clicks before I’m able to see shallow lures on retrieve. But I’m guessing this is distorting the view of the bottom contour.

So, what is the correct angle to use?

Thank you. I had that diagram too. Finally figured out that what was messing with my head was that the angled faces run to different corners depending on which side of the transducer you’re looking at. I knew that they did, but I was still getting the images flipped around.

yeah, it took me a minute also that i needed to look at the transducer side that was facing my mounting bracket, not the side up in the air. you are not alone.

Are each of the transducer faces working separately or do they “blend” a picture for each mode?

Blend, that is what the stitching is for. Each transducer is at a different angle and make up 1/3 of the overall pie / cone.
