225 SHO - no water coming from tell tale...?

1st time out with new to me boat- after idling for 15 min I noticed no water coming from tell tale. There was no overheat alarm and there was 5-6 psi water pressure at idle and 10-12 on plane. shut it down till I get it figured out- anyone have any ideas of things I can check..?

Probably a clogged line. Had it happen on a brand new 115 SHO. Dirt daubers love clogging up those things. That said, 10-12psi seems a little on the low side while on plane. If you don't know when the water pump was replaced last you probably oughta replace it. Having motor set too high on the jack plate will also cause low pressure when on plane. A bad gauge and/or partially blocked line can also cause a false reading.
2023 Xpress H18 with 115 SHO that's optioned to fit my wants and pulled by a little Ram.

Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. Just smile and walk away.
