    Motor bogs down

    Model 8150F13HD S/N 2B476985 purchased June 17, 2020.

Out at lake, went to take off, holeshot was fine, but at half throttle or so, it would bog down, and then catch up and take off again, later I tried it at WOT and it was fine, but still at 1/2 throttle it bogs down. it idles fine and starts fine. I do a lot of idling on the small lakes, and had idled that morning about 20 mins to the spot, and it runs at idle just great.

could it just be a fouled plug? I have not removed any of the plugs, they are the ones that came in the motor, I don't have many hours on the motor, so what would be the plug number I need?

does this motor have a plug in that the tech can get a read out of what was going on?

any other thoughts on what it could be, does it need to go in for service?

Thank you for the help and suggestions

You’re WAY overdue for plugs. Pull and check them. I can’t help with the P/N but, others will chime in. Read the sticky’s at the top of this forum for maintenance FAQ’s and recommendations.

I will have to get some plugs, and hopefully that is what it takes.

Make sure the fuel filter(s) have also been replaced (as well as other recommended Annual AND 3-Year items).

Still wondering if there is a plug in the tech uses to get info on the motor and if it will give some idea of what was going on. I do change the oil at season end every year.
    Thank you for the update

Yes, there is absolutely a Can network connector on the engine that Mercury Dealers use to communicate with the Engine PCM, see live data, and retrieve a Full Report (including Freeze Frame (Fault) Data).

I'm having same problem. I had it serviced at100 hr and changed the plugs. I went fishing for a week motor ran great. Today the motor did the same as yours. Definitely something going on if we have same problem. Have you checked for a bent prop shaft?

If it runs good at idle and full throttle but not at mid range I do not think a bent prop shaft is the problem.

Got it back from service, motor has 29 hours on it. They found loose battery connection at the motor end. They fixed it and checked the filter was fine. Lake tested, by them, and it ran just fine, so I believe it to be fixed. I will try it on the weekend. Thank you everyone for the suggestions and help.
