Cranking deep open water bass in Shad?

How many have any luck cranking open water bass in Shad when they say 15 to 20 deep in 50 feet of water & all they’re relating to are the schools of Shad that are roaming? How do you guys catch them? Thanks

I've caught them on a spoon in those conditions before.

Swim baits worked for me this summer when they were 20-40’ down over 50-70 feet of water.

    I've tried flutter spoons & swimbaits both & haven't had a hit.

Try a 3-4" flutter spoon. I do 2 quick "Pops", 1 short pull, let it fall.

This is typical of a local lake that I fish. I do really well with a lipless bait or a soft plastic swimbait on an under spin jighead.

I've never had cranking work when they're relating to bait schools.
I have my best luck on falling presentations that mimic an injured or dying baitfish falling out of the bunch. Flutter spoon, hair jig, and even a weighted wacky rig.
Swimbait with or without an underspin or an Alabama rig will get bit when the fish are actively feeding.
