For those that have purchased Vexus VX-21 boats, it seems that the Revolution package with Humminbird electronics is the most cost effective way to purchase the boat. I have owned only Lowrance electronics for the past 12 years and the Humminbirds will be a change for me. Are you guys pleased with the Humminbird electronics on your Vexus VX-21 boats and do you think the Humminbirds are as reliable as the lowrance electronics?
Not a Vexus owner, but do have experience with both Lowrance and bird. The only thing Humminbird does better than Lowrance is side imaging (IMO), specifically showing fish on SI. I sent my G2 Solix back for the same warranty fix twice in the span of 1.5 years. The second time also included a complete screen replacement since the touch stopped working. But, I feel like the Solix has better images than the Helix, and to me the Helix interface of button clicks and constantly arrowing over with the keypad is infuriating. I know there's plenty of people out there that love their Humminbirds, but I'm going to be sprinting away from them for my next boat.
If you've been on Lowrance that long, best to stay there I would say, unless you have complaints about them. Considering the cost of these units now, it wouldn't be a fun place for you to be in to find that you really don't like the Solix and have to deal with selling them and then spending $$$ switching back.

My take...
Side imaging is much better than Lowrance.
Down imaging is clearer as well.
2D sonar is a tie..Maybe an edge to Lowrance, but its close..
Forward Facing.. Lowrance AT is much better than the MEGA Live Bird offers and Garmin has them both crushed and thats where Im headed.. .
User interface, I lean towards Lowrance possibly because I am much more familiar, but it just seems more intuitive to me.
Mega 360.. Essential for me for the way I fish and there just isnt anything like it. So there's no comparing it.
All in all. I'm satisfied, but I did have the video card on the Solix 15 fail after 80 hours on the unit and they had to repair it.
They turned it around in a week though and only missed it for one weekend.
I think you need the right tool for the task so for right now, that means having a combination of manufacturers on the boat. but all in all I guess Im happy with the Solix.

I went with the Revolution package when I bought mine. I came from Lowrance. For me, the Solix's are easy to use and intuitive. The images are great, better than Lowrance. I added another Solix 12 for the console, a 360 and a Garmin with livescope to the bow. The Solix 15 at the bow is amazing for 360, 2D, and mapping. I had them ship everything loose so I could rig everything the way I wanted without them drilling any holes.
