    Charging question with multiple batteries

    Here’s the set up:
    I’ve a 4 bank iconic charger
I’ve got 3 lithiums connected in series for the trolling motor.
then I’ve added a series 31 x2 AGM for the graphs and another x2 series 31 AGM for cranking arrestees, radio, bilges lights etc.

as my lithiums never really get below 74% from a heavy day of fishing I’m thinking perhaps it would be ok to charge both the first and last battery in the series and the middle battery should charge equally as well.

in doing so I would have enough battery banks for the two other batteries without having to buy a separate charger.

    what do you all think?

Doesn’t work that way. You need a charger bank on each battery.
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
    nothing else matters.

I had a similar set up to yours. Ionic 4 bank charger, 3 ionic 50ah TM batteries in series, and 2 Ionic 125ah for cranking and electronics wired parallel. Had the 4th bank of the charger split on the paralleled batteries. Had the positive lead on one parallel battery and the negative charging lead on the other parallel battery. Worked great for about a year and a half, until recently when that 4th bank stopped charging. My guess is the extra load “killed” that bank. I recently purchased a MK Precision 5 bank charger from Drewtick. Installed it 2 weeks ago. Works fantastic, and Drewtick gave me the best price on it I found anywhere.

I added pigtails with spades to two of the five batteries. then put spade connectors on to one of the leads on the ionic charger. when I want to charge the cranking battery just switch them - works great. im sure I could do it with some type of battery switch but this works fine. with all of the electronics off of the cranking battery, it rarely needs to be charged

That's the same system I have except my house battery for electronics is a lithium. I have my cranking battery and house battery connected by a Yandina Combiner. When the cranking battery is receiving a charge, it combines the two and also charges the house. When not receiving a charge, they are completely separate. Works great. Andy at Drew craft sells them.

Another option is the https://www.bluesea.com/products/765...ery_Kit_-_120A Whenever a charging current is detected, whether it comes from alternator or on board charger, it combines the batteries and charges both as one battery. This allowed me to charge 4 batteries with a 3 bank charger.
