If he doesn't fish tomorrow he will be fined a significant amount of money. At least that is what they were going to do to Birge last year.
That being said this is a new year, and they pick and choose, change their minds, change the rules so often who the hell knows what they will do to him. He's bolting for the Classic so they might ban him for life and remove every essence of his existence past, present, and future from the MLF/BPT.
This is the most likely scenario, bunch of assclowns run that mess.

I get the same impression. When he first went on BTL and said he would fish both, Matt pointed out the MANY conflicts and Poche acted like he had just heard about them for the first time. And since he missed an Elite event, he probably won’t qualify for the classic and if he leaves a BPT event when he should still be fishing, he’ll supposedly get fined or worse. I just don’t see if working out financially unless his sponsors are ponying up the money and hoping the added coverage and “drama” around the thing will increase their brands.
I got a good laugh out of that BTL appearance. He kind of defiantly said, "I'm fishing both" and when Matt pointed out the obvious conflicts he seemed sort of blindsided

Same just for making the Classic. I guess he wanted 20k instead of just 10k.
He is guaranteed $10,000 to fish the Classic as well.
