After 3 months on dry land I finally got the boat out on the water. Took my son and one of his friends. Probably not the best day to hit Rayburn as the wind was blowing pretty good. Things got fairly rough between noon and 5 pm. I pearled one wave, but not too bad...it helped cool us all off, and the kids thought it was cool....I didn't! I've seen rougher water before, but for some reason I had a little difficulty handling it yesterday...may be due to me not being familiar with the lake and knowing where to run....I was scanning the depth finder, gps, and trying to navigate the chop.

We didn't go too far and stayed on the south end of the lake. Water temps were around 80. We only managed 2 fish (2-1/2 and 3-1/2 lbs) and both were caught in 2 feet of water or less. Caught one on a spinner bait and the other on a buzz bait. Spent alot of time fishing grass lines, but the fish came off of wood. Once we had that figured out...it was time to go home.
