    Best transducer for HDS Live

I upgraded my units to HDS Live but kept my LSS-2 transducer. What is the best transducer out there, is it the 3-1 or the 3D? Any help would be appreciated. My LSS-2 has some shitty performance with my Live units, it worked great with my Gen3.

Going against the grain here. In my experience, the 3D is the top of the line for side imaging. But the initial investment is more than the AI. Good news is, the 3D module and transducers come up pretty often in the Swap and Sell section.

Is there a swap and sell Section on here? I can’t find it.

StructureScan 3D is the best option for SideScan/ DownScan in Lowrance range of transducers. The only situation where I have seen Active Imaging beeing better, is when going very slow (less then 2 knots).

SS3D is best way at this moment. AI3in1 is little better to detecting fish in 800khz to 75ft away from boat , but overall champion is only one. If Navico do next gen of ss3d, maybe with 800khz, I'll get this stuff- especially when it give true, better raw data, not active imaging in sonar only.

I suspect that, because of the way transducer crystals are manufactured, there will always be a range of performance for individual units.

I have had them all and the 3d with its module is the clearest. I run the 3d on the transom and a 3in1 on my trolling motor and really enjoy this set up.

A Lowrance Active Imagining 2in1 in combination with the Airmar TM150 or Tm165 makes for an amazing setup! from 10' to 300' (Tm150 to aprox 200ft) is just amazing!

If you want the best it's SS175H-W and SS3D, I've been running this combination for 7 seasons.

They need to update the ss3d with a higher frequency to get crisp images. The images are pretty good as it sits but I think the technology is about 5 years old. I’m sure we won’t have to wait to much longer to see some improvements.
