    2000 520dvx Electrical

Since I bought the boat in 2012 I have fought having to get in and wiggle one of the fuses for the port side livewell to work. Recently, I can't get the bilge pump to work, cant even get a light to show on the switch. I went ahead and attached pump straight to battery just to make sure it was still good and works fine. I also went ahead and replaced the fuse. Not sure if this is related or not, but I also have one livewell pump that is noticeably stronger than the other even after putting brand new pumps and cleaning out all hoses. Wondering if this is also part of my issue where I am not getting full voltage to the second pump.

While replacing the fuse I noticed that there is a lot of chalky corrosion on the fuse box and thinking about replacing the entire fuse box to eliminate my issues. Has anyone replaced with an aftermarket box? Ranger wants $500+ and do not know when they will have one in stock again.

I'd say your problem is 90% a ground and corrosion problem. After all, your boat is 20 yrs old !! Replacing the fuse box doesn't have to be done at Ranger, and I sure wouldn't at $500 !! You can get any new box and just do one wire at a time. Blue Seas makes a nice one. I mounted one on the underside of my front locker lid and ran it just for my Electronics, but it could easily be used as a main fuse block. The really nice thing is, if a fuse is bad, a red light lights and you know which one is bad.
