john can speak for himself, but i dont think he was bashing your racing boats. just making a point that the chamber supports those type of events that dont bring the type of money that an elite series would. lets face it, more people bass fish on pickwick then race boats. the fishing is clearly on its way to being one of the top fisheries in the south, now is the time for the chamber to step up if they want to people to spend money on the TN side.</TD></TR></TABLE>I'm not trying to start an argument with John or anything and you're right, way more fishing than boat racing. I dont think he's bashing the racing I guess. I bass fish too. Way more than race, I promise. Fishing would bring more money than the racing, no argument here. My point is, the race came to them and said hey, we think this is a nice venue and would be a great place for a boat race, something different that is rarely seen in this part of the country. How bout us putting one on and see how it turns out. It turned out pretty good. Of coarse it didn't make the money an Elite would prolly make but it was ok. It didn't tank and wasn't a bunch of stupid shit either. Now keep in mind, I'm talking F-1 Tunnel boats. The OSS Series has been to Pickwick a couple times too and I have no idea how they made out money wise, not involved with that series. I'm just sticking up for my racers, and a lot of them are fishin good ol boys too, just like all of us. I would love to see the Elite's run out of Pickwick State Park. Maybe I came off a bit harsh on John and I'm not meaning too. We have a race in downtown Memphis this year July 31- Aug 1 and I invite any of you to come hang out with us and have some fun. I'll give you an inside look at the racing we do and I guarantee you'll enjoy it and meet some fine folks too. It dont cost you a dime to get in either.
This thread kinda got off track didnt it.![]()
