I am going to fish my first BASS Weekend Series event on Oconee March 11. Anyone fishing it? I am curious to see how it is run now that ABA is running the show. I have heard good things about the ABA. Still haven't figured out where I am going to stay but I am looking forward to a good weekend. any advise? Probably going to be up there Fri, Sat, practicing. Anyone been out on Oconee lately with some good info? Thanks.

I got a T there this Saturday, and a the Saturday befor. If you'll be able to get online the evening befor the T, I'll do what I can to help you out.

Hmmm, its disturbing to me to see the # of people that look down upon others that fish on Sunday. Todd I know thats not what you were doing and that you make your choice based on your beliefs and feelings.

As a Methodist i was raised in Church On Sundays as were most Christians of our time. However there is still ongoing debate as to why Sunday was chosen after the resurrection as opposed to the original seventh day which was the sabbath day. It is up to you and what you know in your heart. I worship on the day that my church is open when I go. Jesus knows my every move and thought. Regardless of whether I am in Church or fishing Lord Jesus knows where our heart stands. Now we mostly fish on Saturdays and that opens the debate of fishing on the Sabbath in another light:
MATTHEW 12:8; MARK 2:27-28; AND LUKE 6:5-7 CLEARLY SHOWS US THAT
THE "LORD'S DAY" IS THE SABBATH ... THE SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK ... "SATURDAY"
The Bible says to worship on the Sabbath day. If the Sabbath is the seventh day which is SATURDAY are you not sinning for worshiping on the 1st day of the week Sunday??I personally thank God EVERY DAY for every day. If I am not at home to go to church on Sunday I do not feel that I have left God out.
Your dead on right. Saturday is the Sabbath.
I don't speak for Todd, but my reasons for not fishing on Sunday are from
Hebrews 10: 24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
I don't look down on anyone for fishing on Saturday or Sunday. I fish Sundays, I just don't want to skip Church to do it.

Well quoted Shawn!! Its a tough thing as far as how some heavily debate this. I unfortunately have a job that requires me to work weekends. Am I a sinner for working instead of celebrating and rejoicing in God?? I hope not or I am doomed for eternity. I admit I am not an every Sunday in church person. I believe you should be a member of a church and support your church. I don't believe however that the church makes you a christian or keeps you saved. There are many in church 3-4 days a week that will go to hell. I believe in God and I know I have been saved. God knows this as well.Man this is just one of those things you have to know in your heart. Only when you are at the gates of heaven will you really know where you stand. I believe I am in the book. I may be wrong. We may all be wrong. Maybe we should be worshipping allah or buddha to get in to the kingdom. I doubt it, though!!!
ok,,,ok,,, I get it guys. The BASS Weekend Series is set up for the weekend sinners,,not the weekend fisherman.Man I am looking forward to this!
I actually feel that being out on my boat, away from the troubles of everyday life allows me time to reflect and makes me a better person,, just as being in church does. I believe being in church is important, but you don't have to actually be sitting in a church every weekend to worship and be a christian. I don't guess anyone is actually going to fish the weekend series on here,,,,,

My reasons for not fishing Sundays are personal.....I don't care who does or doesn't....I've just made a decision to devote my Sundays to God,my daughter,and my housework.....I have no reference in the bible or anywhere else for my decision....It's just that...my decision.

Well I'm fishing a T on Hartwell Saturday and driving to FL early Sunday AM and saying my prayer "thank God I don't have to get out and fish in 29* weather".
