We had a great day for fishing today over on Lake Russell.....5 boats showed up,with some new guys,Jay and Kenneth.....Great guys that I hope will join us again.....We chowed on Fred-dogs after we weighed in.....I forgot the tourney scales,so we had to use Steves old fashioned "springy" type

1st Place Todd and Bob with 5 fish@8lbs
2nd Place Fred and Jim with 4 fish@6lbs
3rd Place Jay and Kenneth with 3 fish@3lbs
4th Place Steve with 2 fish@2lbs
Last and certainly not least was Dave (redneck) who didn't weigh his fish

It was a good day with good people.....Thanks to Fred for cooking...Bob for bringing the dogs and all the other stuff,and thanks to ALL YOU GUYS that came out to play

Thanks for letting us fish with you guys. Enjoyed meeting everyone, Todd, Bob, Steve, Rednek (Dave), Fred (Championman) and Jim. You guys were great and yes I hope to join you again soon. (Kenneth will too, if work does not get in the way...) Thanks for the dogs Bob and for cooking them Fred!!! Just what I needed after a tough day on the lake. We had bites all day, just could not land fish. I knew we were in trouble after our first stop, we had SEVEN missed fish. (but amazingly I managed to land a 10inch LM and a bream, haha) But, we had fun and enjoyed meeting everyone. It was fun to joke and hang out afterwards, the guy in the ranger/escalade combo was priceless!!! Oh yea, Todd you were generous to us, we only had two spotted bass to weigh in. That was a nice largemouth you weighed in Todd, 3+lb? Congrats on a great win!!! I will let you know about keowee, never fished it, which means I may have a chance!!!

Jbirdbuc, drop me a line sometime. We can go to Keowee or hartwell I live 20 miles from Broyles and maybe 40 from SOuth COve on Keowee. I have a flex work schedule but I can fish a lot.

Thanks for the kind words,Jay....my partner caught the biggest fish....I lost a 4lb fish at the side of the boat while waiting for the net

I love fishing Lanier at night, but the bite doesn't really get good until around 10 pm or later.

Should be fun though....I hate fishing between 10 am and about 4 pm during the warmer months. Too many crazies on the water for my tastes. Big boats and no clue, along with the Jet Skis

Nice meeting you again as well. I will let you know about hartwell or keowee. I had hoped to get to hartwell this morning for some fishing but could not leave the house, some things came up at the last minute. Anyway, I have never been to keowee, any idea how far south cove ramp would be from commerce? And how to get there? I live 5-10minutes from I-85.
