Stones Outhouse Closing

Just saw in the Lakeland Ledger today that Stones is going out of business. That is terrible news. Stones has been a fixture in Lakeland since the 70's. Bobby Stone sold it 5 years ago to Brent Howlett and he blamed the economy and online tackle sales. He and his wife are now filing bankruptcy and closing the doors. Here goes another mom and pop store by the way side.

Being honest Stone's didnt stock much of what was used around the area much like Outback in Lake Placid. These places should have talked to the local anglers on what was working and they could have had a smaller selection. I had someone talk to Brent about selling ( I was interested) but he said he was letting it go. So maybe people might realize the local angler will buy local but you have to stock what is being used. Just my .02

Yeah I did have much better luck when Bobby had it but I still hate to see another independent close the doors. After Brent bought it seems like he swung toward the saltwater side. I wonder if not wanting to sell would have something to do with him already being in Bankruptcy? I don't know anything about how that works thank God. By the way the web site looks great Randy and everyone loves it .

Thanks Rico once I can get more pics I can make it better also if anybody wants something added to it let me know. I have heard the big girls are moving up hope they stay around two more weeks.
