Went with a buddy today Haven't been salt water fishing in a couple of years. I know why now . I cant belive how little respect that the guides have for other people on the water and at the boat ramps were they pick up there clients at.

    Re: Salt water fishing (PBR)

I know down here they can run on plane where no one else
can (idle speed mantee warning). One of my buddies from Kentucky
got stopped for running on plane and pleaed his case to the LEO to find
out they had a special lic. to do this. Im wondering how true this is.

That is a bunch of bull. Idle only, no wake, or speed zones are exactly that. there is no license that allows anyone to break the law. Guide or no guide they have to abide by the laws the same as we do. That would be like allowing a race car driver to purchase a permit to speed on the interstate. This is my 26th year in law enforcement and I have never heard of anything like that before, I am good friends with a Lt. over our reigion here from FWC, and when I see him I will ask him to make sure. Now I have heard the Manatee zones are a federal deal and are confusing, but I think FWC still has authority over them.
