On my 96 Faststrike 150 how do I lift the engine to install a Jackplate. I took hood off and nothing to lift engine with on engine itself. Do I have to borrow or buy a lifting ring...................Help, Help, Help ?????.......................Roger

Need to take your time and look
a little harder. I have a 93/ 175 Fastrike
and I had to stare at it a little while before
I saw them. They are not lifting eyes so
to speak but hoops made into the engine.
There should be two. Kind of offset from
each other for balance. At least thats how
it is on mine.
I made one for my 200 Johnson. If it will fit I'll mail it down to you but by that time you could make your own! I used two pieces of angle iron, welded them..you could bole them together if you want, drilled some holes and whamo there is your lifting "eye" The bolts are a fine thread...I think ChampioNman knows it right off the top of his head! I'll see if I can find the post that shows the one I made.
I found it!!! I just welded across the top and sides just to make sure. Here it is

You need a chain with hooks on either side to lift it Roger. The chain needs S hooks so they slip into the motor eyes. Loop the chain up and run a bolt through the links. Then you can lift it up. The 60* don't lift like the 90* motors. I wouldn't trust lifting a 60* by the flywheel. Too much weight.
Man up and tote it on your knee..... If you cant get Ill send my wife over to show you how...lol![]()
