I drove to the market yesterday and saw 3 bass boats staying at the Central Motel. There was a wh./yellow Skeeter; Blue Ranger and maybe a red Ranger?
I see you guys take it seriously? Is this your big Tx? I talked to the soon to be winner (guy in a yellow shirt) I didn't know y'all were launching at Eden? There is some nice fishing in there as that is Lake Spivey.
I have caught nice fish in THAT lake so I can offer the following info:
Where you'll be launching if you keep to the left the lake opens up over there and I caught 6 (smallest was 2.03 lbs.) The baits I used were: Strike King Shim-E in a pumpkin/black flake (Halloween worm- orangish not green pumpkin)
Watermelon Red/Black Strike King Space Monkey; Homemade Peanut Butter brown jig with a citrus green Trigger trailer. Â These fish were caught atop the lily pads, just throwing it out and retrieving it, usually I'll use a Zoom Speed worm but these fish don't seem to mind Â
If you are going to travel to either Lake Henderson (Apopka) don't forget to hit the canals to and fro... I caught 4 yesterday in the Spivey canal before you hit the "Idle Sign" where the water was "moving" Green Brush Hog (weightless.. VMF Heavy hook prototype) if you keep traveling towards Henderson you'll see some condos on the left, as you continue you should see trees in the middle of the canal.. This leads to 2 creeks on either side. Here is where I caught a 5.05 yesterday using a Yellowish/goldish Berkley hollow body swim bait in their "Ayu" color...
For tackle in the area we have "Dicks" on 200 towards 75 and if you get back on 75 and travel North there is a Gander Mtn. your very next exit. Contact either Bruce, Robert or Kris (<---HOT)
For dining in the area of the Hotel there is Texas Willies right across the street. DO NOT eat at "Enrico's Fine EYEtalian as he thinks this is Florence, Italy (not Alabama) and you'll be in there all night...
If I can be of any more assistance please don't hesitate to ask. If not angling myself I may come watch the weigh-in, what time is the weigh in?
Tight Lines,
Benny
