I have a new boat to me. It is equiped with a 225 HO. Year 2005. What is the max rpm I should run. Boat seems to do the best at three quarter trim at 6000 rpm's. Is this too much?
Thanks in advance.

This is because the EMM starts pumping extra oil into the motor at around 5850 to protect itself. It is VERY IMPORTANT that your engine has the the latest map updates as well. It is also best to be running XD100 oil at any setting. There is a special deal running on BRP Oil in 19 litre containers right now in Australia.

Does a 2003 225 HO pump extra oil at about 5850 RPM too??
I am sure it would but I do not know at what RPM. According to the 2003 brochure the 225HO Full Throttle operating range was 5500 to 6000rpm, so logically it would seem that extra oil would be pumped at higher than 6000rpm, maybe at 6200rpm. I do not know exactly. Hopefully a moderator will chime in & let us know.
Here is the spec page on the 2003 DI.
