Need your help guy's-prayers

Some of you may remember my last post here, havent been around for a while. Way too much going on around here. I was blessed with my 7 th grandchild last week that was two months early but shelby is doing great and so is mom. Now here is where i need your prayers.

The machinist union that i am in signed our contract last week. Yes we took a beating, lost a lot. It was so bad that i will be looking for a better job probably down the road.

The steelworkers union voted to strike and so they did with very good reason. Even rick would feel sorry for these people. They had another meeting with the company today and too be honest this offer could be worse.

If you would before you lay your head down tonight please say a prayer for these people, ask that they get a offer that they can live with. There are some great people sitting out there including Lorraine. I cant stand knowing she and my friends are out there in the cold. If they dont take this offer the company will start replacing them asap. And the worst part is thanks to our politicians that sit on there fat tails and pass laws my union is forced to cross there picket lines. We are more depressed crossing the line than they are mad for us doing it. This is really driving a wedge between this company and me and my coworkers. I know there are some union haters out there but i am talking about people here, moms,dads,brothers,sisters,preachers and so on, people just like you trying to make a living.

Thank's for your prayer's guys, i know he will be receiving a lot of them of them tonight.

Well, they signed the same offer that was offered at the beginning of the talks. They were all given a paper showing them that in 90 days they could be replaced permanently. They really got screwed.

Hate to hear it Mike. There are some really good people at the pipe shop.
It seems like the new corporate has gotten most everyone that I worked with there in engineering (except Owen). Hang in there.

Seems like a good compnay down here in lower alabama, not sure how the whole union things works out but i do knw a few months ago this company was hiring alot of folks, especially welders and engineers.

Been thinking about the steel mill down there but i cant make myself move away from these grandkids. I have a lot left to do around here. My youngest daugther's husband is being transferred to kentucky for a few years then moving back here, he may be going by himself and come home when he can. She is not likeing the ideal of leaving. I have a couple of options of getting some of my money back just going to see how bad they want me to stay. My newest addition to the family is still in the hospital and cant leave untill she reaches the four pound mark, she came in two months early but doing great.

What about the steel mill in fairfield. They are looking for people. As a matter of fact my deparment is looking for a coulpe of engineers and is having a hard time finding qualified people . I know a couple of ex pipe shop employees that work here and seem really happy.
