Need help pairing Garmin EchoMAP devices on boat

    Hi guys,

Im very new to this and need help. I just recently bought a boat and need help figuring out my fish finder setup.

Im going to purchase a Garmin echomaps plus 95sv as my main unit for the console of my boat. I also want a cheaper unit to go by the bow at the trolling motor.
my question is....if I get the 75 chirp will it be compatible with the 95sv where I can share drop points? Or do I need a plus 75sv?

Does it have to be echomaps plus for both or can you mix one chirp and one plus and still get capabilities together?

    thanks in advance

No mixing. Get both Plus and a long enough ethernet cable to reach from one to the other.
My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.

    Ok got it thanks.
so would you recommend the 9” at the bow for a better visual while standing?
and would I need side vu if I’m using it at the bow?
The 7” is $300 more than the 6”. Is it worth the difference for one inch?
theres also a Garmin striker plus 7 that’s the same price as the 6” echomaps plus, will it suffice?
I know the striker versions don’t have mapping but would I need it at the bow?
or are there any other cheaper options available as my second unit other than lowering screen size?

sorry for all the questions, I’m ready to pull the trigger and want to make sure I get the right set up.

6 inch won't work. Compatibility for ethernet and LiveScope is 7 and 9 inch Plus units only. No other options.
Yes - 9 inch for LiveScope.
SideVu entirely your decision. Transducer is considerably cheaper when bought with the unit.

How many of you actually use side vu at the trolling motor?
its a $100 difference on the units.
worth the $100? Or should I save the $100 for a feature that I’ll never use?

I use it when I move from one spot to another but majority of the time it's on sonar and down vu......another thing is resale, it maybe easier to sell with side view than just a down vu....

I do - especially when on one of my 'search and destroy' missions.
I have found small humps and fish off to the side that I would likely have missed.
Worth $100 to find that hump you never knew existed? .... You bet!
Do not take your half in the middle ....
