Re: Sign-up to Fish AL River (nosaj2)

yes we did Jason,....I wish we could fish other places.......but......

I'm thinking many (like myself) are tired of the lakes this time of year due to sea doos, skiers, wake boarders, pontoons (that think they own the water), amateur boat operators and pressure by what seems like hundreds of bass clubs................not to mention D.A.s that think that ramps are a place to park and work on their motors.....letting peeps wanting to get in or take out yo sit in the hot sun.....This happened to me at mid day a couple of weeks ago at Bonners (Lake Jordan).....

This dumb ass ties up the only ramp for 30 minutes tuning his motor while a dozen or so peeps are waiting to put in and at least 10 are waiting to take out....one dude wanting to put in approached him and was told to "F*** off" right in front of his kids,.......waiting to take out, I didn't enter the situation (wanted to) but knew that I would have ended up blowing a large hole in his ass if I was told that. I figured he wasn't worth the jail time..........

I recently fished a tx on Lay,....at mid morning I tried to fish some ledges on the main river,.....I estimated that for the 1 hour I tried this that a boat went by me at the rate of 1 every 20 seconds and most of those were cruisers throwing a large wake.

I know that those peeps have just as much right to be there as I do, maybe even more if they own a lake place, but I would rather stay out of the fray during the summer.

Re: Sign-up to Fish AL River (buzzn)

Rick cool down a little there you going to blow a head gasket Jason & I had one of those big wake maker pulling a wake monkey fling up in the air and flipping around. The boat was making such a large waves we had to turn the bow into them to keep from taking on so much water. After 3 or 4 time passing by us we had leave Hatchet Creek.

Wouldn't have that problem at Yates plus it's a different lake.

Re: Sign-up to Fish AL River (fastr19)

Yates does have a few wake monkeys -- not a lot but a few --

one thing everyone needs to remeber about the vote -- each person gets to vote -- its not a boat vote -- the boater and non-boater gets to vote -- so the vote is doubled comparied to the number of boats that sign up.

shoofly put me down -- see yall at the ramp.

any chance of making it an all day event?

Yeah Mr. Shoofly any way of making it an all dayer. Supposed to be only 85 and possibly overcast or rain which makes the river good. I know Rick knows what they do to that frog down there when it is overcast or raining.

Re: Sign-up to Fish AL River (buzzn)

I see your point Rick. I don't have a problem with the river. It was just an observation. And as for the peep that have a place on the lake. They have absolutely NO more right to the lake than anyone. Their rights stop at the waters edge. They don't even have the right to build a boat dock. That's why they have to get a permit from Alabama Power to do it.

Well crap I didn't mean to make this sign up post into a discussion.

Sign me and Mike Gram up.
