    BRP Parts question

My 2006 225HO needs a new lower unit or gear case. This is a warranty issue. My dealer would not order it until he had the boat at his facility. I deliver it to him and now two days later he calls me to tell me BRP has no gear cases in stock and no promise date is available. Does this sound right? I find it hard to believe BRP does not have a gear case in stock for what is a very popular motor. Thanks.

Guess you could go to the parts page on evinrude.com and look up your motor, and the lower unit, and see if they have any in stock for yourself....

Yes this does happen some times. It stinks but there is nothing the dealer can do. We had a 250 DI in the shop last year for warranty work. It had a bad fuel injector. It took over 3 months for us to finally get in the fuel injector. Im sure a part like a gearcase will not take long at all to come off the backorder list.
