Hey guys I'm thinking about having a "membership drive" tourney and cook out afterward either in October or November. I want to have in on Mitchell for a couple of reasons. One they have a nice pavilion, and it is pretty close to the middle of the State. Three, if I'm organizing and cooking, I want to be close by. You're welcome to suggest another lake if you want to organize and cook. Since the We fish the First weekend of the month I wasn't sure if it would be too hot still in October and so should be do it in November. This part we will vote on. The main purpose here is to try to increase our numbers. I would really like to see around 10-15 boats at most of our tourneys each month.

Tournament rules will be the same with the following exceptions.

1. You must bring a guest! If you are reading this then this applies to you. Someone who has not fished with us or has not in a long time. (like Winn if anyone can find him )

2. We are going to end this one a little early. 1:00pm. This will give us time to get down some food and tell some fish tails, and still give people time to drive home if they have driven a long way.

I will be taking up donation to help pay for this if anyone if feeling charitable. Or if you could volunteer to bring something that would be great. (more on this later)

And last but not least I want to invite the northern guys if they are interested in joining us for some food and fun. I'm debating on spotting them a few pounds if they come. I don't think we would have anything to worry about.


So, for now tell me what you think. (unless you don't like the lake) and give me a vote for October 6 or November 3,,,,,,,Or.......Nov 17 when Auburn has no game and Alabama plays Louisiana-Monroe . It doesn't matter to me I'd rather be fishing then watching football.

Excellent idea.....OH Great White Leader!.........I vote for Oct. 6 I will fork up some $ for this...........don't think we should "spot" the yankees by more than 1 pound though.....we also need to remember to check their live wells.....some of them may show up at the weigh-in with some smallies ............and I will be glad to help cook.........

I think we will be using charcoal. Rick no Eddie gas. We have a few rolls of copper some were around here since Rick didn't need it to get his boat out of hoc. I think 1/2 lbs spotting will be enough for the yankees since they all are pro fishermen. Count me in on cooking, I do a good job burning the food. Oct 6 will be O K with me, grand baby should be here a week before that.

Hey Jason

Have you thought about trying to set up a booth at the grand opening of the new BPS in Prattville. They are supposed to be having a ton of stuff going on that evening. Im sure there will be lots of other fishing clubs there recruting new members. Or at least think about maybe passing out fliers with some information about BBC. They are having a big grand opening celebration on aug 15th and 16th.

We might have rent the pavilion at Mitchell lake? We saw a sign at it the other day that said parking for pavilion rental only ??? I did not see the park ranger or I would have ask him how.

Yes, you will have to rent the pavilion. I think its $40-$45 per day.

You can use the weigh-in shack for free but the pavilion is rented out.

Also be advised there is a group of militant Methodists who rent it each Sunday..

We have a little problem with getting the pavilion. It has already spoken for when I called Monday but he said we could use one of the picnic tables and grill at the upper deck. Jason has been real busy at work lately. Maybe we can get him to go fishing sometime other than a TX?
