Re: Help with info on Alabama (Corinne)

My vote goes to Northwest Alabama. Mainly the Florence area, and the smaller towns such as Killen, just out of Florence. First off is the fishing. You have Wheeler, Wilson, and Pickwick lakes all within 20 minutes (all are part of the Tennessee River. Also, just up from Wheeler is Guntersville which is one of the premier fisheries in the nation.

Property values in the county are still very reasonable. ECM Hospital is located in Florence w/ Keller Hospital just across the river in Colbert County. There is a mall in Florence that has gone through renovations recently and contains all of the major mall retailers such as JCPenney, Sears, Parisian's, Dillard's, Gap, American Eagle, etc. There are also numerous other retailers in the city such as BestBuy, Old Navy, Goody's, Target, Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Home Depot, and K-Mart. There are more restaurants than you can ever eat at including the big names like Cracker Barrel, Chili's, Logan's, Ruby Tuesday, Olive Garden, Outback, O'Charley's, Applebee's, Texas Roadhouse, and the list goes on and on.

Re: Help with info on Alabama (doodah)

Any place within 30 miles of B'ham would be great. B'ham just won the Bassmaster greatest fishing city in the U.S. award. From B'ham you can get to Logan Martin, Martin, Lay, Mitchell, Jordan, Neely Henry, Weiss, Guntersville, Wheeler, Wilson, Pickwick, Warrior River and others in less than 2 hrs. Several in about an hour. If you live in Trussville, Leeds or Clanton, some of these can be cut by 30 minutes.

    Hope this helps,
