    Marks Outdoors Tourney

First off I hope you guys did better than us. My question is this. Am I the only one upset with the way the giveaways worked this year?

We had only 8 lbs and didn't weigh in. My partner and I were tired since we left the house at midnight on Friday. I don't think I will fish another one. 500 boats is way too many and it was a mess at blast off. I couldn't find anywhere to fish. There were boats on every place I wanted to fish. I heard there were several people disappointed at the giveaway.

    "How did they do it?"
Last year almost everything of signifigant value they gave to paid tourney fishermen. Reach into a box, pull out a boat number if it was yours, you won something like a new GLX Loomis or top of the line shimano reel. All kinds of stuff. This year they gave out thousands of dollars of Loomis rods. But only to people that got a free Loomis hat, and then got it autographed by Mr. Loomis. I don't know how I could have known or done this as I fished the tournament all day and then sat down for the weigh in. Then they threw free stuff for a long time. I have no idea what all they threw out since I fished the tourney I was 60 feet out. And I got there 15 minutes early. All the stuff they threw out went maybe 30-40 feet. So basicly the people that got the most free stuff did not even fish the tourney.

If your wife really won the boat, then I helped her tie up your current Blazer at the dock. She was so excited when she got the boat to the dock she couldn't get it tied. She was really wound up (as she should be after winning a boat!). Which boat do you plan to keep?

I wonder if Skeeter will keep giving away boats. Could you imagine being a Skeeter rep, giving away a boat every year, and this year Triton shows up with that huge trailer and boat simulator? I would be upset...

I made the exact same comment about the Triton simulator. I guess they are willing to take money from everyone that will give it even if it steps on a few toes.

Winn, that's a great picture with the boat parked right in front of the do not block the drive sign! I'm sure it wasn't really blocked but its a great pic. Looks like the same woman.

I bet David wishes they could have won the boat a few weeks earlier!

Hey there Alan. Even if we had won the skeeter before the other new boat I would've still bought the Blazer. I've been wanting a fast boat for some years now and the Blazer seemed to offer speed and comfort in one package. Don't get me wrong Skeeter is a fine boat, I have rode in quite a few of them, but I don't like the ride of them. The Skeeter will be sold, and the Blazer has a new home indefinately, maybe a new motor when the new 300XS hits the dealers, ssshhhh don't tell Les this if ya see her Heck that Blazer is quick, already been GPS'd at 82.4 with a little more tweaking and a new wheel I might get to break the 85 mark, pretty good for a 21 footer. By the way Alan, she didn't put any scratches on that blue boat Saturday did she? By the way we were pretty close to blockin that drive, but it was a long and tiring day on Jordan and no-where else to park, since I was the weighmaster I thought rules didn't apply this time

if yall really dont need it I'll take it. mines 2 yrs old. time for a new one. i do think the tournament is kind of crazy being so crowded and everything but i got my entry fee back in the tackle bag plus the chance at a boat.

If you're serious bout that, I can give you my dad's contact info so you can discuss it with him. He's got a list of all the add on's & other what nots on the boat. Just email with your contact info & i'll get back with ya.
