7th Annual Stratos Boats/Wal-Mart Children's Miracle Network Benefit Bass Tourna

    Jason,

On another post you mentioned the 7th Annual Stratos Boats/Wal-Mart Children's Miracle Network Benefit Bass Tournament on Smith Lake--6 pm to 6 am. How do I get more information on it. Is there a web site? Does Wal-Mart have the entry forms?

    Thanks,

Re: 7th Annual Stratos Boats/Wal-Mart Children's Miracle Network Ben ... (alanc)

    Alan,

You can go by the Distribution Center Tuesday through Friday before 3:30 pm and speak with Steve Moore. They have the registration sheets at the front window, but if you want any detailed information you can either talk to Steve or ask me. You can also register their at the DC. Most of the tackle shops and Wal-Mart's around the area also have the flyers.

The location has changed this year. Instead of Speegles, it will take place out of the Park. They are allowing us to open the gates and use the entire field for parking, as well as letting us cook which we couldn't do at Speegle's.

This should be the best tournament yet and with Stratos' involvement, it is going to continue to grow.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Thanks Jason.

If I can find a partner maybe I will see you there. Are you fishing or working? Which Stratos dealer do you work for?

I don't work 'for' any dealer, but I work with Extreme Marine in Decatur, AL. They are located at Riverwalk Marina where we launched for the June tournament.

I'm fishing it and will probably help with the weigh-in. I'll see you there. Should be a blast and maybe one of us BBC'ers will win that door prize (New Stratos Boat).

If anyone has questions about this tournament, shoot me an IM or email me. My address is in my profile.

July 23. You should try to make it. It is a lot of fun and we are able to raise money for a good cause.

Everybody goes home with something, even if you do not catch any fish.

    Todd,

It is an all night tournament. We will start on July 23 at 6:00 pm and fish until July 24 at 6:00 am. Like Kenneth said, EVERYBODY leaves with something, plus your name could be drawn for that brand new 285 Pro XL Stratos, or a big TV, or a big grill, or nice digital camera (get the picture?).

It is a fun tournament and we will be having food available this year (Bar-B-Q I believe). And, you can't have a much better cause than the Children's Miracle Network.

Come on up. I'd love to meet you.

    Jason,

How many boats are they expecting? I fished the Anderson all-nighter a few years ago and there were almost 500 boats. Was worth the price just to see the blast off.

    Re: 7th Annual Stratos Boats/Wal-Mart Children's ... (abnrgr)

I would expect to se between 300 and 400 boats in this tournament. It has had 300+ for the last few years. This is a better tournament than the one Anderson's puts on. Every fisherman gets to go home with some kind of prize and there is money being raised for a great cause (Children's Miracle Network).

I almost forgot, a chance at winning a Stratos 285 Pro XL / Johnson 150 is MUCH better than a 17'6" Nitro.

Do you know if they are going to use the new slot limit (under 13" and >= 15") or the old slot limit (under 13" and >= 16")? I plan to fish it so I'll look for your Skeeter.

    Alan,

All of the flyers have the old slot limit on them. I'll find out as soon as I can and let you know. It will be clearly announced either way at the boater's meeting before the tournament more than once, and announced again in the morning before fish are weighed in.

I am thinking we will be using the new limit, but will get clarification for you by tomorrow evening.

    Alan,

Just to get back with you about this, we will be using the new slot limit on Smith Lake for our tournament. Anything under 13" and over 15" measured on a golden rule. This should make for more limits weighed in.

Thanks and look forward to seeing you there.

    Freddie,

The magic number we want is 317. That is a realistic goal and I'm baffled as to why the count is low at this point. I'm sure that people are waiting to see what the weather is going to do. Also, this year we do not have a late entry penalty, so I'm sure their will be many people waiting until the last day to sign up.

I have a class reunion the night before (10 years---WOW I'm getting old), so it'll be 3:00 or so before I get there. I want to be there sooner, so I'll see what happens.

Jason, I dont know how you guys are doing it but if flights are set by order of entry, alot may opt for last minute registration trying to get the later flight for weigh in. Jason what is the entry on this one?

    Re: 7th Annual Stratos Boats/Wal-Mart Children's ... (Kerry201pro)

    Kerry,

The first 200 boats to register get to choose their flight.

Entry is $150 a boat. Every person that enters receives a shirt and a door prize (last year my door prize was a Sony Xplod car cd player--$200 value). We are paying 50 places GUARANTEED with a 1st place prize of $4000. 50th place gets $150, with a Big Fish prize of $500 and best Parent/Child team gets $250. Their will also be lots of great giveaway prizes to be drawn for (last year, my name was drawn for a 6.1 mp Kodak digital camera).

Even though I didn't receive a check for placing in the tournament, I ended up with $600 or so worth of prizes. Well worth the $75 for my part of the entry fee. And, the entry fee money all goes to the Children's Miracle Network. You can't beat that!

Entries are now well past 100 and climbing fast. Should be a good turnout. Weather is looking to be good with only a slight chance of afternoon showers.
