I talked to a long time acquantance today who said that their bass club always schedules their monthly tournament the same weekend of every month and had been doing it that way for years. He said that they only rarely have someone who can't make it because they know months in advance when they'll be fishing - they only vote two or three weeks in advance for a location but they always know when it's going to be. Anybody have any thoughts?
I know what you are saying (i.e. 'the second Saturday of every month'). That's not necessarily a bad thing. Personally, my schedule of events changes almost daily (I'm married with a 2 1/2 year old) so it would be hard for me to set aside a set weekend each month. But for the majority, it may be a great idea.

The other club I fish does that and it really helps. They fish the 2nd Sat. of every month. You never have to wonder when its going to be. I like it and would vote for it in the BBC if others feel the same way (and if we don't make it the 2nd Sat. of every month).
