Maybe a SHO. But I am reading they are not as quick as a 2 stroke.

go with the SHO..lighter,quieter, better fuel mileage and no oil. Its gonna hold its value better. Its been out for a couple years so they had worked the bugs out and you can get great warranty. The SHO pushes glass boats around. Didnt you have a SHO on your Skeeter/Yam combo? Didnt you like it?

Re: My X21 will be forsale soon (FEARTHETURTLE210)

Yes, I did have to fish out of a skeeter/SHO Yamaha combo. I was impressed, it performed a lot like a 2-stroke. I have never ran a skeeter/2-stroke combo so I don't have anything to compare it too, but I would say it didn't under perform an any category. I didn't notice it being to much quieter than my 2 Stroke Merc but I did like the way it sounded, kind of a low growl. Can't tell ya on the fuel economy because we didn't have to fill them back up after each day. The oil thing is kind of a wash for me. $8/qt X 7 qts + a $35 filter is not too much different than what I spend on oil now and I don't have to change it. I was impressed with the hole shot. I will say that I am not opposed to owning one (and that is major Kudos coming from a die-hard 2-Stroker).

I ran a 21' Skeeter with a 200 Yamaha 2-Stroke for years and switched to a 20' Xpress with the 200 Yamaha SHO engine. It is definitely quiter and has better acceleration than the 2-Stroke and uses much less fuel.

Yamaha's are know for their thirst for oil and in a years time a $35 dollar filter, as compared to the cost of oil, is cheap.

I really like the SHO engine for my application, which is fishing.
