    Re: rod locker?? (ragin_cajun92)

Just removed it and bought the new XPS rod socks . I don't believe that the rods will break or get damaged without the rod rack tube, but always use the rod sock on all the rods to prevent the lines from getting tangled with other rod's guides. I hate tangled rods !

I took mine out a while back and with socks on all my rods no problems until last week... Broke a Dobyns rod in the box... I think it happend when I pulled 2 rods out at the same time and they were crossed ove the other one and I broke about 4" off the tip. So just DON'T TRY AND PULL 2 RODS OUT A ONCE!!!!

I had tubes in both sides originally, but pulled one out last season. Rod socks and no tubes are definitely the way to go.

I took the front organizer out and now use Rod Gloves on the rods. Slide them in, and put the butt of the rod in the rear organizer to keep the reels from getting beat up. Work's perfect and now a 9' rod would be no problem in my 186.

I removed mine also. So much easier to get to your rods and I can carry 20 or so without any problems.

    Re: (paw paw)

Took mine out of my 2005 Tr-20x a couple years ago, got tired of broken guides and that awful "ssssqqqqquuuuueeeeekkkkk!!!" sound when sliding them in and out of the tubes.

If anyone wants the one out of the port locker, shoot me an IM and I'll price it to you...cheap....
