It's kinda hard for anyone to give you advice without knowing what you intend to do with the boat i.e. bass fish, catfish, gator hunt, ski, etc. It would also help if you gave some idea of what features you think you need in a boat. Have you gone to their website and looked around?
I now see you are from IL so I guess gator hunting will be out![]()
Yes no gators here I bad fish a little also need open space I have a lot of kids and grand kids I was wanting to know what kind of front end flat semi v or v will give z smooth ride in 3 footers or so and be a stable platform if I pitch to a few bass

You basically have three choices in hull styles: Mod-V, Pad-V, and Deep-V. A Mod-V is just really a glorified flat bottom. It has a slight V up toward the from to help break the waves some but 2/3 or so of the hull is pretty much just flat. The Pad-V is built like a typically V hull bass boat. It will have more of a V and more dead rise to help break waves and a "pad" in the rear middle of the hull that the hull rides on when on plane. The Deep-V has a lot of dead rise to help break waves and a little bit of a rounded hull toward the rear. The Mod-V and Pad style hulls are the most popular and out of the two the Pad style will usually ride the best and be the fastest. A Mod-V will run and draft a little shallower. Both can be very stable to fish out of. I don't have much experience with the Deep-V styles but they tend to be pretty popular in the northern regions of the country. The sharp V and drastic dead rise helps smooth out the ride but they won't be as stable to fish from I don't think. The only ones I have ever been in were pretty small but they weren't as stable to walk around in as a Mod-V or Pad-V type hull. What size hull are you thinking you want?
Sorry, I just reread your post. If you go with a 20' Mod-V type hull it should ride real well, be super stable, and have tons of room but then again a Pad-V of that style would to. It's really going to come down to what you like best once you see them in person. A Mod-V should be a little cheaper though.
Sea Ark's are some pretty rough riding boats. I've been on Carlyle Lake alot and in a few Sea Ark's, they will beat you to death. Any reason why it has to be a 4-stroke? An Optimax or E-Tec would be a better choice for pushing that kind of load.
An Xpress or War Eagle would give you a better ride than the Sea Ark and stay on top of the waves. Sea Ark pushes alot of water.
I have been told that Suzuki makes a great motor
My last motor was a optimax good motor but opti
Oil prices suck

Yes for a 4-stroke it isn't bad. Buy oil for an Opti or E-Tec or change oil in a 4-stroke, 2 of the same.
I would look at other boats than the Sea Ark regardless of which outboard you hang on it.

I had a 2072 War Eagle and a 1860 Seaark. Both boats rode pretty well the same in rough water. Sweaark is a GREAT boat for the money. WarEagle is an Excellent boat as well but are more expensive. If you get a 20' a 115 Yammy Four Stroke would be my choice.

I fish out of both of those boats. In noway shape or form does the 18' Sea Ark ride anywhere close to that of a 20' War Eagle...ain't happening. A buddy of mine has a 20' Xpress with the pad hull and it is an awesome ride.
Again Sea Ark's push alot of water. Both War Eagle and Xpress ride with little of the boat in the water, more like a fiberglass bass boat.
My buddy has a 16' war eagle, it rides good for no bigger than it is. It is a heavy little devil. I owned a 16' Sea ark for 5 years was a good little boat. Two guys in our club run Suzi 4 strokes, great motors! Local dealer usually has several 20' Sea arks in stock. one of those with a 140 Suzi 4 banger would be a sweet rig. But I wouldn't hesitate to buy a war eagle or Xpress either. Just depends on what type of layout you want. I know sea ark has a model with padded sits up front, almost like a fish n ski style without the big wind shield.![]()

Your opinion is just that! Your opinion. Having said that I have done more than just "fish" out of someone elses boat and form my opinion. I have owned both and logged hundreds of hours in each. My statement comes from my time on the water and is my opinion as well. By the way a 2072 War Eagle and a 1860 SeaArk both have nearly the same hull angle. Why would the Wider WarEagle ride any better than the narrower SeaArk. WarEagle was slightly more stable since it was wider but the Seark had a slightly better ride in rough water IMO.![]()
