How much jack plate set back is a good starting point for a Stroker?
Also does it matter if you are running say a 250xs or a 300xs or would you have the same for either?
Thanks

I ran 14" in Blackie with a 250xs - excellent hole shot and out and gone ahead of the other strokers with over 300 hp.
Currently run 16" on Nightmare with 300++ hp, handles great and also a super holeshot - but it is a kevlar hull.
Some have run 12" setback, I recommend starting with 14" and see how she handles and runs............![]()
On a big block 16 inches is the best top end setting and handles so much better than anything else. We always put 14 inches on and found the 16 better![]()
16" on mine also. That's how it was setup when I bought it. Seems to work great. Anything less I couldn't say.

I have had 10", 12", 14" and now 16" and the 16 is the way to go! The boat handles better and runs flatter. I really do not see much difference in hole shot. May be if I could have had a second boat to run against for each setback then may be but my hole shot is very good with a bravo.
Spider what size Bravo are you running and what kind of work has been done on it if any? Are you still running the Yammie?

I have a 32 that has been worked by Mark Croxton. He does a great job on the bravos. I now have a 300xs. The yamaha had the same lower unit, sportmaster with 1.62 gears, My 32 bravo is a little on the large side with the mercury because of the higher rev limiter. I also have an unworked 28 and a worked 30. The 30 is really tight but has a great hole shot.
Right now the 32 is the one I like the best but can only turn it to 5800 but it is the fastest. The 28 in can hit the rev limiter any time I put my foot in it so it needs more cup. The 30 has to much cup for me and I need to send it to Mark.
I really need to get rid of some of these props.![]()
What motor are you running?

None as of now been on the hunt for one. Kinda have been looking at lots of options over the last few weeks. Would like to find a 300x but considering a 250xs or 300xs. The pain of owning a boat with no motor rises in direct proportion to the rise in temperature it will become unbearable soon.![]()
Thanks to all for the info.
