I have a 2002 di evinrude what software and cable do I need to be able to check fault codes on my motor I have an xp computer

You need software version 1.42b, look for it on eBay. It will come with the cable and manual. look under the one stop shopping heading at the top of the page for instructions on using XP, otherwise you will need to use DOS.
