What’s everyone’s opinion? 520C or a 520L? How’s the L boat perform both running and fishing?

I bought the 2018 Z520c. I did not see $11,000 difference between similarly rigged boats to go with the L.
Love my L boat over the C boat, better ride, dryer ride, tab bit slower but not a lot, all in all I really like my L boat over the C boat.
C, no way the L is worth the money
I agree the C boat is a better buy. They both look great and fish well but the L isn’t worth the extra money.
Gun Control..... Is hitting your target every time
I thought they had the same hull. Just a different top cap was the only difference. How is it a better dryer ride? Thanks
Completely new design (based off old) 1.5" wider beam on the L boats, the ones I've been in are the driest smoothest ride yet, and I thought my C boat was awesome. Is a little bit slower boat as a result.
How does the same hull with a new deck ride any different ? I'm not getting that Rodney.
The new-for-2018 Z520L and Z521L Comanche models retain Ranger’s legendary hull design but add significant interior refinements, including LED lighting and redesigned consoles capable of accommodating flush-mount displays of up to 16 inches.

It’s my understanding the splash well changes etc helps with backwash and waves and helps with a dryer ride.

Interesting thread. I would have thought the ride would be the same. In that case I would get a C but if the L ride is better I may go that route.

L is improved
Ask several L boat owners that have owned c boats. Majority will tell you get a C boat. I just bought an 18 c boat after taking to several that have L boats now. Only thing I have heard they like better in the L is the seats
There are some changes in the lines on the bottom and sides of the L that helps with the dryness and the ride. To me it is noticeable with the ride being better and those lines knocking the water off to the side. There is a little extra hook in the rear end that has slowed her down a bit and I do believe that helped in the riding part.
Ok...if ya'll say so...but everything I've read or watched says Ranger "retained the proven hull"... if you ask me..the only thing that would improve the ride would be a deadrise change and or a narrowing of the hull, and looking at the 521L/520L running videos, except tfor the contouring on the sides of the L boats, the hulls look exactly like the C boats. Just my opinion...obviously I don't own one.
Here is something to consider per advice from a Ranger guy. On the L boat look at the lines in the interior. A lot of sharp right angles vs the curved turns in the C. Over time a concern about stress cracks, etc. Never seen an L up close but it’s worth a look to confirm.

It's the very same hull! I looked and priced both extensively before ordering. In the end, couldn't pass up the C package. Saved me $12k on a 521

If you've never seen them in person side by side they (L -C) are most definitely different from the sides up,yes you are correct the actual running surface has not changed but the transom on the L has changed with a hook to help low speed porpoising and shape trying to compensate for the shallow water anchors causing back wash on the back deck the 3 ranger stripes are more pronounced as Rodney was speaking on there's more things in design to help with a better ride and a dryer ride hope this helps......
