Hi guys, looking for a little info for a replacement trolling motor. I have a minn kota auto pilot 65lb 60 inch shaft. What shaft lenth would you recommend as the 60 inch is way to long, I do a fair bit of walleye fishing as well so I do fish in some choppy water, Would a 45 inch work or would I be better off with a 54 inch.
I have a 45" Motor Giude and I have no issues with the prop wanting to come out of the water under normal conditions. I have had my prop to come out of the water when a huge wake was throw by large boat but that only last for a few seconds then it is over. If I was going to fish often in areas with waves taller than 18" then I would opt for the 50" or possibly the 54"shaft.
