    Trim Switch - Gearshift Lever

Not sure where to post this but:

My down trim switch has quit working. Can this be replaced without replacing the lever. If so, where do you get one at?

I would assume that the bow & motor switches are still working? C&O Marine should carry the switch.

Your local BRP dealer should have one. What style is you shifter? If it is the gray one you'll need to shift it into reverse to access the allen set screw that attaches the handle to the slpine shaft. Pull it off and check the wire (blue/white) for fraying/chaffing/broken maybe all it is. If not the new style switch will come with the handle (plastic) and is replaced as a unit.

Re: Trim Switch - Gearshift Lever (ChampioNman)

Thanks for the help guys! I've never taken one apart and just trying to know a little about it before I do...

All the other switches work. Just the one on the shifter is not.

I guess if color is all I've got to go on, mines the new type. The lever is black.

Does it have a plug on the back?

I guess the color isn't important thing is if it a plastic OMC shifter with a push button in the center that allows you to warm up the motor without it going into gear then you will need to move the throttle to full reverse as far as you can to access the set screw.

I had the same problem with my yamaha shifter, and the problem was the wire had gotten frayed where it passes from the hull to the shifter itself.. had to take it apart and do a neater job of rewiring.
