1999 Javelin 18

Looking to upgrade from a 1996 Hydra-Sport Z-260. I really like the Hydra-Sport but getting a little small for me and my son. Found a 1999 Javelin that appears to be in pretty good shape.. on a scale of 1-10 maybe a 7 or 8. Motor is a 1999 Johnson 175. I know the Fuel Injection models were dogs. Were all the 1999 motors dogs? Does the Hull get a thumb up or down from those who have ridden in them. Would love to get a newer boat but money prevents this. Is this Boat a positive step up or or should I keep looking?

Javs are awesome well built fishing boats. the 99's were composite boats to.

I have a Renegade 18 single console with 150hp Johnson, My daddy has the 19 renagde dual console with the 175hp Johnson, Both are great boats, but wish I had that extra foot and 25HP. Better ride and faster. I run 68-70mph he runs 75+...
Easy setups and the will run like a gazel. Good Luck

Jay, the R18 has all she can handle with a 150 on the back of her a 175 would be beond most drivers capability. It would be fun to play with though.
