    Livewell operation??

I am a new boat owner and have a question about how the livewells work. I have a 92 Stratos 274 F/S. I am sure this is a dumb question, but I have no idea how they work. I went out today and the rear well had some water in it, but the front well was empty. I didn't do anything to put water in the wells so I am not sure how they are supposed to fill. When I flip the aerator switch on the dash, water is pumped into the rear well, but still nothing into the front well. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Somebody with a Stratos will be able to give you the run down on how the livewell system works, but if you had water in your well, it probably came in from an open or leaky drain. A little water was probably a leak, several inches and the drain plug was probably open.

At the console turn your master ON and the switch labeled "Fishing". Then go to the bow. You should have two switches, one sets auto or manual fill. The second sets how long the pumps run. In the manual mode the pumps will run until you move the switch back to the middle position (OFF) If in the auto mode the pumps will cycle however many of minutes you set on the timer. For example, if the time is set on 2, the pumps will cycle every 2 minutes.

    Tightlip,
I only have two switches on the dash...one that says aerator and one that says timer. There is no master or fishing switch. When I hit the aerator switch on the dash, the rear well fills. If I flip the aerator switch at the bow for the front well, I can hear the pump making noise, but nothing comes from the nozzle. Could the pump be bad or is there another issue? Any ideas?

Check your nozzle in the front some have a little valve on them to keep them from filling when your system runs on one pump

Front livewells are usally a pain to fill. My old boat had a front livewell and I couldnt get it to fill without first pouring water in it to prime the pump
I just used it for a cooler instead

284...that is a great idea. I do not do any tournament fishing currently so the rear well should serve my purpose. Maybe I will just put the plug in and use it as a cooler. I like it!
