1991 Sratos 201 Pro 20' 3" 200 Evindude XP

Have a 91 201 Pro 20' 3" with A 200 rude XP and a 6" J/P boat ran 63.5 at 6000 with a 25P renegade then went 64.5 at 6000 with the j/p installed was the fastest speed with the j/p all the way down tried a 25P Tempest plus boat slowed down to 63.5 at 5700 after coming up 2" on the j/p any higher and it went slower anybody have any luck using a similar setup?

A couple of things: 1) what was your water pressure at WOT and 2) you need to know your prop to pad measurement. Here is a starting point; 3.5 below pad with your engine height and NEVER less than 18-20 PSI water pressure at WOT. RPM's in the 5800 range. Adjusting the jackplate without a starting point will put you all over the place.
Those boats are heavy boats. With the 200 you are looking at mid 60's, maybe upper on a good day. This might all depend on the condition of your engine; how "fresh" it is, when was the last time it was de-carbed etc. The 25 Renagade is a good 4 blade prop for those boats. A 24 Raker or perhaps a Tempest for a 3 blade.

Thanks for the info that 64.5 was with motor 3.25 below water pressure at 20 plus it liked the gade better than the tempest feel like i could have some pitch added to 26 from 25 as will turn it 6000 no problem the motor stays decarbed and has good compression used to turn a 27 shooter 6200 at 59.5 wiyh no j/p and they slip bad thinking about coming up click 1/4" on the j/p if I could get 66 out of the boat I'd be happy

I have a 1988 with a six inch plate at 3 1/4 below pad with a tempest plus 25-p at 5900 rpm at 66 gps ith a load and a half tank of fuel . Also the motor is a 2.5 200 hp Mariner with around 12hrs on it has pushed it to 69 gps lite .

Also this winter i got a 24-p tempest plus for the heat this summer to see what it will do?

my 89 201 came with a 27 shooter on it. barely topped 60 like rchavis said. I found a 4 blade spinelli 25 in the well and tried that. I get to 63.5 at 3 1/3 below pad. running a 225 johnson.

I am sure i could get more with a tempest or raker, but dont see the need to buy a new one. love the lift and driveability out of my Spinelli.

Had it since new and back then we ran the laser 2 was the best think , and we didnt have GPS and yes i think they were 20 ft , because my ,buddy Ranger 390 V was a 19 ft.

jkk try setting the motor at 3 1/2 below pad with the tempest and move up a 1/4 at a time to you lose water pressure are speed ? You may have a bad prop also , have you had it since new ?

I bought the prop used from a prop shop it has been worked a little I have raised it until the rpm went from 5200 to 5700 and the w/p is at 18 that is 63.5 with 2 full tanks of fuel and me 220lbs in it
