    Livewell questions

I have a 2004 200 that I recently purchased. When I test drove it I tried the livewells out and everything worked fine. The other day I thought I would fill them up in the driveway with the hose and see if there were any leaks. I noticed that when the manual valves were on recirculate, that water would leak from the strainers on the back of the boat. If I switched to auto it would stop. Is this the way it is supposed to work? I know it won't matter if I am in the water but if I ever trailer to a weigh-in just don't want all of my water leaking out. Thanks in advance for your guys help.
