I bought a ASX this past weekend. Took it out to run it and noticed the tach didn't work. How big of job is it to replace tach?

Tach is easy, but bigger issues may be lurking. A bad stator, rectifier, or computer will also cause the same issue. Also check the connections on the gray tachometer wire.
Is there an easy way to get to tach?
Hey we need some pictures of the boat before we give out too much info.![]()
Dade.......let me know if you find out how to get to it without taking the entire boat apart. I bought a Stratos ASX last August. Once in a while my tach will read wrong. All I have to do is tap the front and it corrects itself. Its the connecting nut on the back thats loose but havnt figured out how to get to it.
