    XD100 Oil

I am new to the ETEC. I can pick up my new boat with a 250 HO on it this summer/fall. What is everyones thoughts on the XD100 oil? I am not that familiar with the ETEC but have been doing some research.

    Thanks in advance

    Chris

    Re: XD100 Oil (518Comanche)

The "minimum requirement" (XD 30 or another oil that meets TCW-3RL standard).

The "primary recomendation" for your high-performance application (XD-100).

If you operate in "freezing" conditions XD-100 is required.

I run the xd-100 in my 03 DI all year round.

I swapped over to XD-100 and it does not smoke hardly at all !! I would rather spend a little more on the better oil just for piece of mind.

the xd-100 oil run cleaner & allows you to not have to use additive like ring free or carbon guard etc.

Contact your local dealer and see if they carry XD-100 in bulk it will save you a few bucks.

Andy, are getting any smoke? I never smoke normal running only when I'm idleing over 1200 rpms and load on the trailer. Sometimes I fish idle only lakes and when noone is looking I will bump it up to 1200-1500 R's and cause the oil injector to pump more.then when I go to load it may smoke. Just curious.

He's got a carbed 2001 225 HO Mike. I'll bet it puffs some at start up but not much.

Just a little at start up cold or warmed up but not much after that. Still tryin' to burn up some of the xd-50 left in the tank. trying to find a dealer like Fred said that has XD-100 in bulk. I paid 39.00 for my last gallon and some of the guys on here paid more than i did. Can't wait to get back on the water some more !!!
