    294XL Drain Plugs?????

Where can I get a drain plug for my boat. (294XL) I only need the male section. There are no dealers in my area, all of them went out of business over the past couple of years.

Will the universal ones from walmart work? What size is the plug in the boat? Luckily the plug is in the boat but I don't want to try and get it out until I get a replacement. Thanks Roger

Thats funny. I just broke my grain plug last week. Im sure one of the universal ones would work just fine. Im assuming they all have the same threads.

I am thinking of the rubber one that you put in the hole the just flip up the little lever. The original is so hard to put in and get out. I had made a little handle to install it and take it out. The thumb finger part is what broke on mine. It is in the boat so I am waiting until I get a replacement before taking it out.

Buy a cheap pair of vise grip pliers. Clamp them on the one that is in it now really tight and there you go.

Seriously though, not sure the flip kind will seal it off. The threads on the female part attached to the boat will keep the rubber one from totally sealing.

I would think any of the threaded ones would work, I think they sell the whole kit in bass pro shops or any online boat parts place

Just changed mine with one I picked up @ the local dealer, easy to change out. The plastic T handles suck.

They are (or all the ones I have dealt with) all a standard pipe thread. You can use a PVC pipe plug from Home Depot of Lowes

It takes a course thred to replace and yes we have them in stock. I am sure you can get just what you need that will work at Lowes or Home Depot that will work.

I use a universal one, its not totally sealed but it will not sink the boat. Reason I switched was so i didn't have to get down and crawl under the motor to put it in... now I just flip up the back hatch and insert it from the inside.
