I've had mine for a month or so now and my high speed is 74. What's your set up,,,prop, motor, plate, prop to pad? Thanks and be safe! It sure is a handful to learn to drive it.

You must have a 200HO![]()
I wonder what the 200 SHO Vmax would do on a 294xle
I have a 200 HO Etec on a 6" plate w/ 26 Raker II. Currently running 2 3/4" below pad.

I have the identical set up and haven't had 'er past 72 mph yet. I am an inexperienced driver so once it starts walking a lot I back off pretty quickly.
It may take five months for me to get my SHO on my 294 but when I do I will let you all know.

very subtle left hand turns. Not even turn. More like putting pressure on the wheel.
I would add to be careful letting out of it real quick over 70MPH in a boat that size, especially if there are any wakes around. Bow hooking one is no fun. Ease up the speed a little at a time and use your trim as brakes. Sometimes a slight bump down on the trim will put just enough of the boat back in the water to allow you to gain control and confidence. Then bump it back up and repeat if you have a long enough stretch of water.
76.4 is COOKING in a 294!![]()

Thanks. I misspoke - I pretty much do what you suggest. I don't yank back on the throttle or anything; just trim down a bit or back off a bit until the walk goes away, then try again. I have heard about the slight left hand corrections to the wheel (and seen the video) and I'm trying it every time I go out. Getting better but one step at a time!

If u have a lot of wide open water to run in try this, run her out and when it starts to chime walk just go into a real slight left hand turn while triming up, keeping pressire on the wheel to the left. A few times doing this you will get the hang of driving a boat that walks.![]()
I will try that, thanks!
